Bryan Fuller, the creator of the ABC series Pushing Daisies that ran 2007 to 2009, still has hope for the work about a pie maker who is able to bring dead things back to life with a simple touch.

Fuller told Variety that he believes Pushing Daisies could be a Broadway musical: “There are some obstacles there as far as revitalizing it as a television show, but...I’d love to see it as a Broadway musical. I can just imagine Tim Minchin’s lyrics, can’t you? If you’re reading this article, Tim, call me!”

Fuller first expressed interest in adapting the title for the stage in 2014. At the time, he teased the idea, saying, "I would love to do a musical and make it all about Kristin Chenoweth and her character, Olive Snook. I think it would be incredible!"

Narrated by Tony winner Jim Dale, the series concerned pie-maker Ned, played by Lee Pace. The cast also included Anna Friel, Chi McBride, Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, Tony nominee Ellen Greene, and two-time Tony winner Swoosie Kurtz.

Minchin, who wrote the score to the musical Matilda, was represented on Broadway this past season with the musical version of Groundhog Day.
