Tuck Everlasting, the short-lived Broadway musical based on Natalie Babbitt’s best-selling children’s novel, will be licensed by Samuel French. Performance license applications for the title are currently being accepted at SamuelFrench.com.

Tuck Everlasting features a book by Tony Award nominee Claudia Shear ( Dirty Blonde) and Tim Federle ( Better Nate Than Ever, The Great American Whatever), based on Natalie Babbitt's best-selling 1975 novel of the same name. Music is by Chris Miller ( The Burnt Part Boys), lyrics are by Nathan Tysen ( The Burnt Part Boys).

The novel’s plot was expanded for the stage production that introduced new characters into the narrative. According to Sam French, Tuck Everlasting is the “tale of 11-year-old Winnie Foster, a free spirit who longs for adventure. When she meets the Tucks-and discovers they hold the secret to everlasting life-she faces an extraordinary choice: return to her own family, or join the Tucks on their never-ending journey.”

“We’re genuinely excited to have Samuel French represent our show,” say composer Chris Miller and lyricist Nathan Tysen. “Tuck Everlasting is an adventure story for the ages and we are thrilled that Samuel French will spread its life affirming message beyond Broadway and out into the world for many years to come.”

“Samuel French is absolutely thrilled to be representing Tuck Everlasting,” says Bruce Lazarus, executive director of Samuel French. “It features a beautiful and moving score by Miller and Tysen matched with a solid stage adaptation of the beloved novel by Shear & Federle. Tuck Everlasting is a perfect fit for all of the audiences we serve - from professional to educational - and will be a staple in our catalog for years to come.”
