The Ghost-With-The-Most has announced a closing date at the Marquis Theatre as it prepares to embark on a national tour.

Broadway's Beetlejuice will become one of the dearly departed January 8, 2023. With 16 weeks left, the musical has announced its final performance date at the Marquis Theatre. 

In its final weeks, the show will embark on a national tour beginning December 6 at San Francisco's Golden Gate Theatre. The tour will make stops in 26 cities across the country.

Beetlejuice debuted on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre March 28, 2019 where it opened April 25. Its initial engagement earned eight Tony award nominations. Following the COVID-19 shutdown, the show returned to Broadway—and brought the largest sandworm on the Broadway stage and the Netherworld back with it, re-opening April 8, 2022 at the Marqus Theatre with Tony nominee Alex Brightman reprising the role of the titular poltergeist opposite newcomer Elizabeth Teeter (The Crucible, The Audience) as Lydia Deetz.

Tony award nominee Kerry Butler, David Josefsberg, Obie award winner Adam Dannheisser, Lortel winner Leslie Rodriguez Kritzer, Kelvin Moon Loh, Danny Rutigliano, and Dana Steingold all returned to the company alongside Brightman. They are joined in the cast by Michelle Aravena (A Bronx Tale, Rocky) as Miss Argentina and Zonya Love (The Color Purple) as Maxine Dean/Juno, as well as Kate Bailey, Will Blum, Ryan Breslin, Natalie Charle Ellis, Brooke Engen, Eric Anthony Johnson, Andrew Kober, Elliott Mattox, Mateo Melendez, Ramone Owens, Commodore C. Primous III, Nevada Riley, and Graham Stevens.

Based on Tim Burton’s cult favorite film, Beetlejuice tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager whose life changes when she meets a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a demon with a thing for stripes. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter unleashes a (nether)world of pandemonium.

Alex Timbers directs the musical, which features an original score by Tony nominee Eddie Perfect, and a book by Tony nominees Scott Brown and Anthony King. Music supervision, orchestrations and incidental music are by Kris Kukul, and choreography is by Connor Gallagher.

The creative team also includes scenic designer David Korins, costume designer William Ivey Long, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, sound designer Peter Hylenski, projection designer Peter Nigrini, puppet designer Michael Curry, special effects designer Jeremy Chernick, hair and wig designer Charles G. LaPointe, make-up designer Joe Dulude II, and physical movement coordinator Lorenzo Pisoni.

Illusions are by Michael Weber while dance arrangements are by David Dabbon. Also serving are Rachel Bauder as production stage manager, Catie Davis as associate director, Nancy Renee Braun as associate choreographer, and Jenny Gersten as line producer.
