Jacksonville’s Alhambra Theatre will kick off its 50th anniversary season January 4, 2017, with Neil Simon’s comedy Come Blow Your Horn, the first show performed at the theatre when it opened in 1967. The staging will star, for the first time onstage together, Tod Booth, Lisa Valdini Booth, and Jessica Booth.

Todd Booth, who is currently the creative director at the Alhambra, was a recent prior owner, and has directed nearly every show at the dining theatre for the last 20 years. He, along with wife Lisa Valdini Booth, performed in countless productions during his tenure.

Jessica Booth, their daughter, is currently working in theatre in New York City, and started her career at the Alhambra at nine years old.

“We want to continue to surprise our guests, this year especially. Having the Booth family together is something we’ve always wanted to do, but needed the right vehicle. There is no better timing or show than for our first show of our 50th anniversary,” said the theatre’s managing partner, Craig Smith, in a statement. “With their collective career from ownership to directing to acting, the Booths might be as close to acting royalty as we have in Jacksonville. This is a tribute to them and to the theatre, and I think our fans will love seeing them together. I know the Booth family is excited.”

Opened in 1967 as The Alhambra Dinner Theater, it is the longest-running dinner theatre in the country. Tickets, starting at $35, include dinner, show, and parking. For more information call the box office at (904) 641-1212 or visit
