Original cast member Betsy Wolfe plays her final performance in the Tony-nominated Broadway musical & Juliet October 20 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
Wolfe, Tony-nominated for her performance as Anne Hathaway in the hit jukebox musical, originally posted the news on Instagram.
"Playing Anne in & Juliet has been a lifelong dream come true," wrote the Waitress star in the social post announcing her departure. "Before this show people would ask 'what’s your favorite role' and I’d often say 'it hasn’t been written yet.' Then I read the hilariously moving script by David West Read and the rest is history.
"I perform every single night with a grateful heart knowing how blessed I am to play the incomparable Anne, alongside my amazing castmates, current and past, and for so long."
Wolfe will be succeeded by Alison Luff (The Who’s Tommy, Waitress), who is scheduled to begin performances October 29. Understudies will play the role during the interim period.
Liam Pearce (How to Dance in Ohio, Empire Records) will also join the cast October 29 as Romeo, the same day ensemble member Michael Iván Carrier takes over the role of May.
The show will also welcome several new ensemble members
October 29, including Gabe Amato as Gregory, Reese Britts as
Sly, Nicholas Cooper as Lenox, Charli D'Amelio as Charmian, Jhailyn
Paige Farcon as Imogen, Elsa Keefe as Eleanor/Benvolio, Alejandro

Rensalier as Augustine.
