Off-Broadway News Anna Ziegler’s Actually Opens Off-Broadway Joshua Boone and Alexandra Socha star in the new drama at Manhattan Theatre Club.

The Manhattan Theatre Club production of Anna Ziegler’s play Actually officially opens November 14. The new drama explores themes of race, truth, and sexual consent on a college campus.

Directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, the two-hander stars Joshua Boone and Alexandra Socha. Performances began October 31 and are in The Studio at Stage II - Harold and Mimi Steinberg New Play Series.

Boone (Holler If Ya Hear Me, Classic Stage Company's Mother Courage and Her Children) and Socha (Spring Awakening, Fun Home) reprise their roles from the play’s acclaimed Williamstown Theatre Festival production this past summer; WTF is attached as a co-producer.

Set at Princeton University, the play recounts a tale of alleged sexual assault between two freshmen. The new drama takes on the loaded topic of consent and the intersection of race and gender in schools today.

The creative team for Actually is made up of Adam Rigg (scenic design), Paloma Young (costume design), Yi Zhao (lighting design), and Jane Shaw (sound design).

The co-world premiere of Actually was produced by Geffen Playhouse and Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2017.
