Tony and Oscar nominee Kathleen Turner will announce the nominations for the 68th Annual Drama Desk Awards, which celebrate Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway, April 29 on NBC’s New York Live during the 11:30 AM ET half hour.
Productions must open by April 25 to be eligible for nomination.

As was the case last year, all performance categories will be gender-free, including Outstanding Leading Performance in a Play, Outstanding Leading Performance in a Musical, Outstanding Featured Performance in a Play, and Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical.
Each of these categories has twice as many nominees as the former gendered categories, and voters will cast two votes for each category. These categories will also have two winners each; a tie may result in more than two winners in a category.
The 68th Annual Drama Desk Awards will be held June 10 at The Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Additional details will be announced at a later time.
The Drama Desk Awards, voted on and bestowed by theatre critics, journalists, editors, and publishers covering theatre, are the only major New York City theatre awards for which productions on Broadway, Off-Broadway, and Off-Off-Broadway compete in the same categories.
The 2023-2024 Drama Desk Nominating Committee includes Martha Wade Steketee, Linda Armstrong, Daniel Dinero, Peter Filichia, Kenji Fujishima, Margaret Hall, and Charles Wright.
