Berberian Sound Studio, the new stage adaptation of the critically acclaimed 2012 horror film by Peter Strickland, is set to open February 14 after beginning performances February 8 at the Donmar Warehouse in London. The new play, adapted for the stage by Joel Horwood and director Tom Scutt, is scheduled to run through March 30.
Set in an Italian sound studio, the play explores the increasingly tense and frightening goings-on as a Foley artist is tasked with using various vegetables to create increasingly violent sound effects. The production features sets and costumes by Anna Yates and Tom Scutt, lighting by Lee Curran, sound design and original compositions by Ben and Max Ringham, and Foley design by Tom Espiner.
