Donmar Warehouse has assembled the complete cast for its upcoming presentation of Berberian Sound Studio, based on the 2012 thriller by Peter Strickland. Joel Horwood and Tom Scutt have adapted the film for the stage, with Tom Scutt directing.
Joining the previously announced Tom Brooke, Enzo Cilenti, and Tom Espiner are Eugenia Caruso, Sidney Kean, Loré Lixenberg, Luke Pasqualino, Lara Rossi, Beatrice Scirocchi, and Hemi Yeroham.
Performances will begin February 8, 2019, at the London venue. Opening night is set for February 14; the engagement is scheduled to run through March 30.
Set in an Italian sound studio, the play explores the increasingly tense and frightening goings-on as a Foley artist is tasked with using various vegetables to create increasingly violent sound effects.
The production features sets and costumes by Anna Yates and Tom Scutt, lighting by Lee Curran, sound design and original compositions by Ben and Max Ringham, and foley design by Tom Espiner. Casting is by Amy Ball CDG.
