Off-Broadway News60-Minute Version of The Lightning Thief to Play Off-Broadway Before Touring

A 60-minute version of the Broadway musical The Lightning Thief will play two performances Off-Broadway before hitting the road.
TheaterWorksUSA's The Lightning Thief:Theatre for Young Audiences Edition will be presented October 1 at 3 PM and 7 PM at Five Angels Theater.
The cast will include Lance Raikesas Percy Jackson, Queade Norah (Sistas! The Musical) as Annabeth, Tyler Tanner (The Stray) as Grover, Thomas James Knappas Mr. Brunner, Jason Rodriguez as Luke, and Joelle Zazz (A Tale of Two Cities: The Musical) as Sally.
An adaptation of Rick Riordan's book of the same name, The Lightning Thief features a book by Joe Tracz, music and lyrics by Rob Rokicki, direction and choreography by Josiah Davis, and music direction by Adam J. Rineer.
The musical concerns teenager Percy Jackson, who discovers he's a demigod and embarks on an epic journey with his friends to find Zeus' missing lightning bolt and prevent a war among the gods.
The production will also have scenic design by Jean Kim, costume design by Meg Powers, sound design by Michael Costagliola, assistant direction by Margaret Lee, and performance tracks by Right On Cue Services. The stage manager is Tara Tolar-Payne.
The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical, which officially opened at the Longacre Theatre October 16, 2019, following previews that began September 20, ended its Broadway run January 5, 2020. The limited engagement played a total of 30 previews and 95 regular performances.
The Lightning Thief: TYA Edition is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals.
