Industry News 10th Anniversary Broadway Stage Management Symposium Announces Dates and Speakers

Attendance will be possible both in person in New York City and online.

An initial list of speakers for the 10th anniversary Broadway Stage Management Symposium has been revealed. The annual educational intensive, open to the public, is designed for the growth of stage managers at all levels and experience. This year's symposium will be held May 18–19, both online and in person in New York City.

The opportunity to attend is fully hybrid, with all sessions available on a dynamic digital platform. The symposium also offers full replay, On-Demand Access to all sessions, so attendees never worry about missing content. Attendees can jump in and out of the online platform, then watch and rewatch sessions at their convenience for up to five weeks.

This year's speakers will include Jill Cordle (The Inheritance, The Ferryman), Brandon Allmon-Jackson (Back to the Future, A Doll's House), Tiffany N. Robinson (MJ The Musical, The Cher Show), Norman Anthony Small (Leopoldstadt, American Buffalo), Jereme Kyle Lewis (I Need That, New York, New York), and more to be announced.

Whether students, young professionals, educators, or seasoned practitioners, all attendees can gain insights and inspiration with the symposium's opportunities for development, education, and networking. The conference also offers the BSMS Expo, which features companies, products, and services to support stage managers both personally and professionally. 

The Broadway Stage Management Symposium has previously brought together attendees from Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Canada, Hong Kong, India, Mexico, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Nigeria, and more. Alumni from the symposium have gone on to work on numerous Broadway productions, including David Byrne's American Utopia, Freestyle Love Supreme, Slave Play, King Kong, West Side Story, and My Fair Lady.

The symposium was founded by seasoned Broadway stage manager and educator Matthew Stern who has worked on over 20 Broadway productions including The Lion King, Wicked, The Phantom of the Opera, and more.
