The immersive Off-Broadway staging of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street is now selling tickets through August 26, continuing its record-breaking run as the longest-running musical ever to play the Barrow Street Theatre. The acclaimed production, which recently welcomed new principal cast members, was previously scheduled through May 27.

On February 27, the show welcomed a new Sweeney Todd and Mrs. Lovett: Thom Sesma is currently starring in the title role with Sally Ann Triplett as his partner in crime. The two succeeded Hugh Panaro and Carolee Carmello, respectively.

The current cast also features Stacie Bono as Pirelli and Beggar Woman, Billy Harrigan Tighe as Anthony, DeLaney Westfall as Johanna, Zachary Noah Piser as Tobias, Michael James Leslie as Judge Turpin, and John Rapson as The Beadle. The ensemble is made up of Matt Leisy, Liz Pearce, Danny Rothman, and Monet Sabel.

Directed by Bill Buckhurst, The Tooting Arts Club’s immersive production of Sweeney Todd began previews February 14, 2017, at the Barrow Street Theatre prior to an official opening March 1. The downtown theatre has been completely transformed into a working pie shop for the show, with theatregoers encouraged to dine in the theatre prior to the performance.

Sweeney Todd features music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and a book by Hugh Wheeler from an adaptation by Christopher Bond.
