Lindsey Ferrentino’s play will be titled Andy and the Orphans during the select performances.
Lindsey Ferrentino’s play Amy and the Orphans will be performed as Andy and the Orphans on Wednesday and Saturday matinee performances with Edward Barbanell in the title role for the remainder of the limited run (through April 22). As previously reported, the acclaimed new play—about a woman with Down Syndrome, played by American Horror Story starJamie Brewer—has an alternate title for those instances when Barbanell plays a male version of the lead role.
Amy and the Orphans is a family drama about three siblings who reunite for a road trip in the wake of their father's death.
The Roundabout Theatre Company production is directed by Tony nominee Scott Ellis in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre Off-Broadway. Performances began February 1 ahead of a March 1 opening.
