Darius de Haas, known for his roles in Shuffle Along and Children of Eden, will join Grammy Award-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens and the Boston Pops May 22–25 at Symphony Hall.

Giddens, who had been announced to step in for Audra McDonald during the Broadway run of Shuffle Along, headlines the concerts that will celebrate the work of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Billy Strayhorn, Eubie Blake, Florence Price, Hazel Scott, and more.

In addition to de Haas, the concerts will feature pianist Lara Downes and conductor Keith Lockhart.

De Haas’ album Day Dream: Variations on Strayhorn has been rereleased on streaming platforms. In addition to his numerous stage appearances, de Haas is also the singing voice of Shy Baldwin on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
