The Paines Plough production of Tony and Olivier Award winner Simon StephensSea Wall, starring Andrew Scott, will play the Old Vic this season. Performances, commemorating the London theatre company’s 200th anniversary, will run Jun 18–30.

Scott first performed the solo show in 2008 at the Bush Theatre before engagements at the NT Shed and the Dublin Theatre Festival.

The monologue play, directed by George Perrin, explores a man’s grasp on religion and faith after facing a sudden loss.

Sea Wall, to my mind, is a stunning piece of writing, and the idea of performing Simon’s beautiful play in this most magical of theatres makes me really happy,” Scott said in a statement. “Thanks Matthew [Warchus, Artistic Director] for having us. I hope The Old Vic audiences will love the play as much as I do.”
