In the 2011 revisal of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, Jessie Mueller made her Broadway debut as Melinda Wells, a 1940s jazz singer who just so happened to be the past life of psychiatric patient David Gamble. Her show-stopping signature number "Ev'ry Night at Seven" (borrowed from the M-G-M film "Royal Wedding") made it clear to Broadway fans that she had indeed arrived.
