Here's what's on the horizon following the 2018 Tony Awards.

The Jeff Awards, celebrating excellence in Chicago-area Equity theatre, will be given out Oct. 15. A dozen new plays or adaptations are in the mix, pointing to Chicago as a continuing breeding ground for new work. The nominees for work seen between Aug. 1, 2011, and July 31, 2011, include Brian Dennehy, Amy Morton, Tracy Letts, Robert Falls, Harry Groener, Liz McCartney and more.

David Mirvish, the Toronto producer who helped introduce such London and Broadway mega-hits as Miss Saigon and The Lion King to Canadian audiences, will spend $10 million (Canadian) to produce the London musical, Bombay Dreams, on Broadway in 2004.

Producer Andrew Lloyd Webber announced Sept. 30 that his production of the London musical, Bombay Dreams, a fantasia that incorporates lavish musical sequences worthy of India's so-called Bollywood films, will open on Broadway in the spring of 2004.

Next week, on July 3, the one-and-only Betty Buckley will celebrate her 50th birthday. This multi-talented performer has been dazzling Broadway audiences since her debut on The Great White Way in the 1969 production of 1776, and she will soon be returning to the stage in the new musical Triumph of Love. In honor of BB's 50th birthday, I thought I would comprise a list of my 50 favorite tunes that I've heard Buckley sing over the years. I've also listed where you can hear them; some, unfortunately, Ms. B has yet to record (for those numbers I've included where I heard her sing the tune), but hopefully she will record these plus many more during the next 50 years. Here they are, in no particular order:
