Kenneth P. Strong, a longtime actor at PlayMakers Repertory Company in North Carolina, and a dramatic art professor at his alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, died Jan. 12, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. He was 52. Since 1979, Mr. Strong appeared in more than 50 production with PlayMakers, UNC’s professional theatre company in residence. Most recently he was seen in Pericles, Amadeus and as the Aviator in PlayMakers’ 2007 holiday production of The Little Prince. Other credits included God’s Man in Texas, King Lear, Art and Death of a Salesman, among others.

Mr. Strong made a lone Broadway appearance in the 1995 revival of Inherit the Wind, starring George C. Scott. Off-Broadway, he acted in Easter by Will Scheffer with Naked Angels and Sin with All Season’s Theatre Company, and regionally at Alliance Theatre Company, Syracuse Stage, The Intiman Theatre, and Georgia Shakespeare Festival.

His TV credits include "Matlock," "In the Heat of the Night," "Spin City," "Law & Order" and "All My Children."

He is survived by his wife, Kee, who has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Ken's name to the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.
