He was lucky in his associations. Because of the Albee and Schneider's reputation, their plays attracted top talent. As a result, Mr. Wright worked alongside the likes of Hagen, Hill, John Gielgud, Irene Worth, Estelle Parsons, Colleen Dewhurst, Ben Gazarra, Hume Cronyn, Jessica Tandy, George Grizzard, Martin Balsam, Julie Harris, Zoe Caldwell, Frank Langella, Deborah Kerr, Christopher Walken, Shirley Knight and Meryl Streep.
He had long since retired when Albee convinced him to resume his duties as stage manager of the Off-Broadway New York premiere of The Play About the Baby in 2001 and Beckett/Albee in 2003. Both starred Brian Murray and Marian Seldes.
Mr. Wright is survived by a niece Lisa Slabaugh and a nephew Tom Wright of Austin, Texas, as well as by his closest friend and caretaker, Dan Cavanaugh of Los Angeles.
