Ron Abbott (Production Manager) Obituary

Ron Abbott, stage manager for Broadway's That Championship Season, Otherwise Engaged, Eubie and the Dustin Hoffman-directed All Over Town, died April 3, 1999, of a heart attack, but news of his death was only recently reported, according to Variety.

Mr. Abbott, who was 57, also worked for The New York Shakespeare Festival (with Joseph Papp), and was a production manager at Lincoln Center.

As a director, he staged Otherwise Engaged, starring Roddy McDowall, in Los Angeles, and many national and international touring companies, Variety reported.

At Erizoe Productions, a TV production company he founded, Mr. Abbott produced "Eubie Blake: A Century of Music," "I Feel a Song Comin' On" (Showtime) and worked on the Dr. Ruth Westheimer show.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
