DESCRIPTION

Light Opera of New Jersey seeks two actors for Wickersham #3/Yertle and Sour Kangaroo for its August production of Seussical.

WICKERSHAM #3/YERTLE (male identifying, Bass/Bass-Baritone/Low Baritone, age 20s-30s) a bad boy of the jungle with strong dance ability (acro a plus, but not necessary). Will also double as Yertle the Turtle, a crotchety magistrate in the Jungle of Nool with hidden gospel flair! Stipend $350

SOUR KANGAROO (female identifying belter, age late 20s-early 40s, BIPOC) the self-proclaimed leader of the Jungle of Nool - think Aretha with a sour attitude! Should be a good mover with TONS of personality. Riffing encouraged! (Will also voice the Young Kangaroo). Stipend $750

Other information you should consider:

Rehearsals take place in Basking Ridge, NJ mostly on Tuesday/Thursday evenings from 7-10 and Sundays from 12-10 (please refer to the rehearsal calendar in the Google Drive)
4 performances will take place at the Rosen Performing Arts Center in Wayne, NJ on August 9-11
