PRODUCTION STAFF and Counselors Summerstock VTC Musical Theater Sleepaway Intensive
Summerstock VTC is thrilled to announce openings for various positions within our esteemed production team for our upcoming Musical Theater Intensive! Join us for an unforgettable summer of creativity, collaboration, and theatrical magic from July 31st- August 18, 2025
🎭 Theater & Production Staff
Counselors – Serve as mentors and leaders for campers, providing guidance, supervision, and support throughout their camp experience. Counselors are also assigned a production role (AD, ASM, etc.) and camp role (activities coordinator, etc.)
Production Stage Managers – Oversee the rehearsal and performance process, managing schedules, coordinating between departments, and ensuring smooth operations with a two week rehearsal schedule.
Production Manager – Lead the production process, managing logistics, schedules, and communication between creative and technical teams.
Lighting Designers – Design and execute dynamic lighting for camp productions, working with young performers and a few student technicians in a fast-paced environment.
Show Directors – Inspire and guide campers through the creative process, directing high-quality theatrical productions in a fast-paced environment!
Choreographers - Choreograph dynamic dance numbers alongside the Director in a fast-paced, creative environment
Music Directors - Teach music for the show. Vocal pedagogy is a plus. Piano skills are a necessity. Most shows are tracked.
Sound Technicians (A1/A2s) – Manage audio needs, including mics, mixing, rigging, and sound design for all performances.
Experience working with students ages 12-18 in a mentorship, educational, or supervisory capacity is preferred.
Strong leadership and teamwork skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills
Passion for mentorship, education, and youth development
Experience in theater, production, or camp settings (as applicable)
Ability to create and maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment for young performers
Strong time management and organizational skills
Willingness to take initiative and be flexible with changing needs
Ability to work and live in a residential camp setting for the duration of employment
Ability to live in shared accommodation environments
Commitment to safety, professionalism, and fostering a fun, engaging camp experience
Important Dates:
Staff Training Begins (in Montclair, NJ): July 31 and August 1, 2025
Staff Encamp (in Elmer, NJ): August 2, 2025
Camper Encamp: August 3, 2025
Campers Decamp: August 17, 2025
Staff Decamp: August 18th, 2025
Camp Location: Elmer, NJ (food and housing provided).

Pay Range: $1000-2500 based on experience and position
Room and Board is included!
