DESCRIPTION

We are a small team working on a rock musical, the writer is producing a workshop to run through the 90 min show for next stage development.

We are seeking a versatile Non-Union Musical Director to collaborate with to translate the music to the talent working alongside the writer/director of the piece, and weigh in with any suggestions.


There will be 2-3 days of rehearsal run through of the 90 minute production, with a dress rehearsal at the end, and a final performance in full dress at another location on the 4th day.


Responsibilities:

- Collaborate closely with the writer/producer to understand their artistic vision and musical requirements..

- Lead vocal and instrumental rehearsals, ensuring high standards of performance.

- Provide musical direction and coaching to the cast to enhance their skills and interpretation.

- Work with the production team to coordinate technical aspects related to music, such as sound design and equipment requirements.

- Foster a positive and collaborative rehearsal environment conducive to creativity and growth.


Requirements:

- Proven experience in theatrical productions, preferably with a focus on rock music, we are open to new talent

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with creative teams and performers.

- Flexibility and adaptability to accommodate the evolving needs of a workshop setting.

- An eager and friendly attitude.

-Availability for 3-5 days of rehearsals in June–final schedule has not yet been set.
