Seeking immediate replacement for SIXTY NINE SEVENTY - Role of Naomi.

Performance dates in New York Theater Festival: 1/21, 1/22 & 1/25.

$500 stipend for performances, as well as first right of refusal on future development. Additionally taking part in the festival allows you access to all festival productions.

Rehearsals will be flexible.

SIXTY NINE SEVENTY deals with the social & political events between 1969 and 1970 that lead to the infamous protest at Buffalo State College, and across the U.S., told through the perspectives of four college students struggling to find the right side of history.

First I thought I got a break. I mean a real break. They were telling me I could go to college and be a real college student. I should have known better. Like my Mom always tells me, “If it sounds too good to be true…it is”. I got in here alright but it was through S.E.E.K. Search for Education…I don’t know what the rest of it stands for. I mean the whole program says that it takes students who are disadvantaged and couldn’t get into college the normal way. So what do you think all the White students here say about that? That I took the place of one of their friends or their relatives who deserves to go here. Yeah I know there a few who don’t say that. But only the ones who need us to fill up the rooms for their protests or put us in front of cameras to validate their causes. That’s just as bad. Plus they want to be congratulated for it.

Nixon is a criminal. I mean he should be impeached and thrown in jail. Did you hear him last night? He’s tried everything to get us to think we are winning in Vietnam. He’s used up every lie a person could possibly think up. So then what does he do? He invades another country! Cambodia! Around some really stupid shit about that’s the key to stopping Communism. More boys injured. More boys killed. More idiocy. Arms and legs blown off, women and kids in villages watching their homes burned by us. We are not going to stand by and just let this happen. He’s up in the White House saying we are the ones who are immoral. He’s nothing but a racist coward.
