DESCRIPTION
Hello All!
JWM: A Theatrical Company in conjunction with Sutton Park Place Conservancy will produce a public concert version of Hello, Dolly! on September 10th at 2 pm and 5 pm with a 26-piece orchestra. A stipend of $150 is provided for principals, $100 for ensemble members for the first show, and $100 for each additional show. We'll be doing publicity with BroadwayWorld, television news coverage, Times Square billboard, and more. We are potentially adding a second date for Tuesday, October 1st at 2pm in Central Park.
SEEKING:
Performers with energetic personalities who can convey messages through song, and most importantly leave a lasting impact with an audience. Must learn music quickly, be reliable, and collaborate with others. The performance will be recorded and photographed for artist use. THE ROLE OF DOLLY IS OPEN TO TRANSGENDER AND DRAG PERFORMERS. NON-UNION ONLY.
WE WILL NEED DANCERS!!
IMPORTANT DATES:
Vocal Rehearsals: 20-25 Hours Between August 1st and September 10th
Sitzprobe: TIME & DATE TBD (Within The Week Of The First Performance)
Event: Tuesday, Sept 10th, 2-3 pm, 5-6 pm
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please pick the best Zoom audition time using the link below (pick one day only), or send a pre-screen to [email protected] by 5 pm on Friday, June 7th. The day before the auditions, the Zoom link will be sent out. Please be prepared to sing two contrasting 32-bar cuts in the style of the show. Self-tapes sent without the form will not be considered.
If callbacks are requested, they will be due by Wednesday, June 19th via Self-Tape.
If selected, you will have to know your music before the group rehearsal (that is not the place to learn it). This concert is curated for those for whom accessing the theatre may no longer be a possibility whether that is because of age, disability, or other ailment. All COVID-19 safety precautions will be in effect (minus masks when the performer is on "stage").
