CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

SEEKING:
Willy Wonka (Age 30-50) The sly, charming star of the show. Lithe, eccentric. A persona larger than life can go from charming and comical to magically mysterious and dark. He is looking for someone new to take over his candy empire. Any ethnicity. Gender: Male, Vocal range top: G4, Vocal range bottom: A2

Charlie Bucket (Age 10-12) Sweet, smart, hopeful, and loving. A boy with wonderful innocence and vulnerability. Gender: Male, Vocal range top: F5, Vocal range bottom: G#3

Grandpa Joe (should be able to play age 50-75) Impish. He is Charlie’s imaginative, fun, kind, and loving grandfather. After many years of being confined to a bed, his childish energy returns when Charlie finds the Golden Ticket. He is full of life and adventure, and he is Charlie's companion on the tour of the chocolate factory. Gender: Male, Vocal range top: G4, Vocal range bottom: G#2

Mrs. Bucket/Cherry/Oompa (Age: late 20s-35) She is Charlie’s warm and kind-hearted mother. Worrier. Generous and loving. Cherry is a zany and quick-witted reporter with dash of humor. The reporter is "on the scene" for our golden ticket winners. Gender: Female, Vocal range top: E5, Vocal range bottom: G3

Mrs. Gloop/Grandma Josephine. Augustus Gloop's Mother, who is constantly trying to satisfy their son's insatiable appetite. Gender: Female, Vocal range top: D5, Vocal range bottom: Bb3

Augustus Gloop. Rampantly over-active. A gluttonous child who finds one of the Golden Tickets. Augustus is known for his insatiable appetite, and his love for food often leads him into trouble. Gender: Male, Vocal range top: G5, Vocal range bottom: Bb3

Mr. Salt/Grandpa George (Age 30-60) Veruca’s goofy, eccentric, distracted, hilarious father. Finds it impossible to say no, giving in to every ridiculous demand his daughter makes. He believes that money can solve any problem. Russian accent. Gender: Male, Vocal range top: Ab4, Vocal range bottom: Ab2

Veruca Salt. Vicious and determined. A spoiled young girl who also discovers a Golden Ticket. Veruca is used to getting anything she wants and throws tantrums when she doesn't. Ballet skills a plus. Gender: Female, Vocal range top: Db5, Vocal range bottom: Ab4

Mr. Beauregarde (Age 30-60) Violet's father, who is just as competitive and boastful as his daughter. He is obsessed with her success and is eager to capitalize on her newfound fame. Gender: Male, Vocal range top: G4, Vocal range bottom: F#3

Violet Beauregarde. Confident, forward, and full of attitude. A competitive and gum-obsessed girl who is among the Golden Ticket winners. Violet is a world champion gum chewer and boasts of her accomplishments. Hiphop skills a plus. Gender: Female, Vocal range top: F#5, Vocal range bottom: C#4

Mrs. Teavee (Age 30-60)/Mrs Green. She needs amphetamines to get through the day and deal with her outrageous son. Tense, extreme, and hilarious. Gender: Female, Vocal range top: Eb5, Vocal range bottom: G3

Mike Teavee. A technology-obsessed boy who secures one of the Golden Tickets. Mike is obsessed with television, video games, and gadgets. A fireplug with a ridiculous amount of energy. Gender: Male, Vocal range top: Bb4, Vocal range bottom: G3

Ensemble. Reporters, Oompa Loompas, Squirrels, Bavarians, Cheer Squad, Back-Up Dancers, and a slew of other featured characters.
