DESCRIPTION

Walnut Street Theatre is accepting resumes for the position of Assistant to the Controller. This full-time position reports directly to the Controller.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Process weekly payroll, employee benefits, workers compensation & unemployment claims

· Ensure accurate payroll recordkeeping by carrying out regular system updates for status changes, benefits deductions and tax withholdings

· Assist with accounts payable processing, ensuring that invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with the theatre’s policies and procedures

· Reconcile credit card statements against receipts submitted by cardholders on a monthly basis

· Maintain the integrity of the office filing system, including, but not limited to invoices, personnel files, contracts and permanent files.

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· 1 to 2 years payroll / accounts payable experience a plus

· Strong written and verbal communication skills

· Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and produce high quality results

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

· Must be organized and detail oriented

· Ability to work comfortably in a team environment
