SOUTHERN PLAINS PRODUCTIONS is a professional arts-production company serving Oklahoma City. We seek to reimagine live theatre with innovative artistic experiences that spark conversations and bring our community together.
RENT DATES: Actors arrive: May 23, First in-person rehearsal: May 25, Opening: June 7th, End of contract: June 10th. All actors must be available for the entire rehearsal process.Rehearsals take place six days a week from 10am - 5:30pm with evening commitments for tech and performances. Due to the short duration of this rehearsal process we will have two (2) longer tech days. The production rehearses and performs in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

ANGEL DUMOTT SCHUNARD (C3 to A4, 20-40 years old, any gender, POC)
Angel is an enigmatic healing presence that uplifts the spirits and lives of others. A street drummer and drag performer, Angel often combines the two with gender-bending spectacle. Angel is aptly named for their selflessness, nurturing instincts, and sacrificial nature. Though Angel has spent many hard years in and around the Village, they are newly acquainted with our central friend group through Collins after he is the victim of a violent mugging. Angel nurses Collins back to health through medical, financial, and romantic means. The two of them fall for each other immediately, creating the relationship that will serve as the heart of the show until Angel succumbs to AIDS. Drum and dance skills desired.
HOW TO AUDITION: Please submit one 16-bar cut of a song in the style of the show to demonstrate range. Please submit ASAP; no later than Sunday, May 5th.
