Yes, a Dark New Two-Hander From Writer of Ghostlight Musical, Will Hit Manhattan | Playbill

News Yes, a Dark New Two-Hander From Writer of Ghostlight Musical, Will Hit Manhattan Songwriter and performer Tim Realbuto (Ghostlight) will present his new play Yes, as part of the 12th Annual Emerging Artists Theatre New Work series, June 2 at 7 PM at the TADA! Theatre in Manhattan.

Realbuto, who-co wrote and directed the Off-Broadway musical Ghostlight with Matthew Martin, is going it solo this time — he wrote and will direct and star in Yes, minus a collaborator.

Here's how it's billed: "Yes is a one-act, two-person drama about Patrick Ness (Realbuto), a fading star in his 30's who now teaches private acting lessons in NYC, and the relationship that forms with Jeremiah, his new teenage student that Patrick happened to see in a high school production of Romeo and Juliet. What begins as an innocent acting lesson turns into a sick game of cat and mouse, resulting in mental torture, sexual advances, and perhaps the destruction of two (possibly) innocent people."

Realbuto is holding auditions for his onstage partner, the role of Jeremiah. Actors (18+, who appear no older than 16) can send headshots and resumes to Mallory Schaus at [email protected].

Realbuto is known for his solo shows Alone (With Plenty of Help) at 54 Below and Wunderkind, an autobiographical piece created by and starring Realbuto, which toured NYC all last year at venues such as Joe's Pub, The Laurie Beechman and Stage 72.

The TADA! Theatre is located at 15 West 28th Street. All tickets are $10. For more information and tickets, visit EmergingArtistsTheatre.org.
