The Los Angeles premiere of Steve Martin and Edie Brickell’s Broadway musical Bright Star officially opened October 20 at the Ahmanson Theatre. The engagement marks the official launch of the show’s national tour, which will play dates in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, Houston, and Dallas.
Carmen Cusack, who earned a Tony nomination for her Broadway debut in the production, reprises her performance in the central role of Alice Murphy. Cusack has only been announced to appear in the Los Angeles and San Francisco engagements.

The national tour of the Tony-nominated Steve Martin-Edie Brickell musical launched at the Ahmanson Theatre with members of the original Broadway cast.
The Ahmanson run continues through November 19. The production will then arrive in San Francisco November 28 for a limited run through December 17 at the Curran Theatre.
The production also features Broadway company members Jeff Blumenkrantz, A.J. Shively, Allison Briner-Dardenne, Patrick Cummings, Stephen Lee Anderson, Maddie Shea Baldwin, Patrick Cummings, Max Chernin, and Richard Gatta.
Also in the cast are David Atkinson, Jeff Austin, Kaitlyn Davidson, Devin Archer, Kelly Baker, Audrey Cardwell, Robin De Lano, David Kirk Grant, Donna Louden, Kevin McMahon, Alessa Neeck, Robert Pieranunzi, and Michael Starr.
Bright Star will officially open in L.A. October 20 and run through November 19. The production will then arrive in San Francisco November 28 for a limited run through December 17 at the Curran Theatre.
