The West End premiere of Sam Shepard’s True West officially opened at London’s Vaudeville Theatre December 4. The production, which marks the first U.K. mounting of the Pulitzer Prize winner’s work since his death last summer, stars Game of Thrones star Kit Harington and Hangmen alum Johnny Flynn (who also composed original music for the staging).
Olivier nominee Matthew Dunster directs the play, which follows two brothers—a successful screenwriter and a drifter—who reunite to discuss their mother’s recently abandoned house. In addition to Harington and Flynn as Austin and Lee, respectively, the cast includes Madeleine Potter as Mom and Donald Sage Mackay as Saul Kimmer.

Another production of the play is set to begin performances at Broadway’s American Airlines Theatre December 27. The Roundabout Theatre Company production, starring Paul Dano and Ethan Hawke, will open officially January 24, 2019.
