Another Netflix series, another theatre-stacked cast. Check out the new trailer above for Inventing Anna, about the German heiress who scammed New York’s social scene, featuring Anna Chlumsky, Katie Lowes, Anna Deavere Smith, James Cusati-Moyer, and more.
The show stars Emmy winner Julia Garner as Anna Delvey, with Broadway alum Chlumsky as the journalist who uncovers the social climber’s true story and motives.
As previously announced, the cast includes Arian Moayed as Todd, Delvey's lawyer; Smith as Maud, another journalist; Lowes as Rachel, a woman whose blind worship of Delvey almost costs her everything; and Cusati-Moyer as stylist and fashion director Val. Also starring are Anders Holm, Jeff Perry, Terry Kinney, Laverne Cox, and Alexis Floyd.
Inventing Anna is produced by Shonda Rhimes under her Shondaland banner, and will drop on the streamer February 22. The series is inspired by the New York Magazine article “How an Aspiring ‘It’ Girl Tricked New York’s Party People—and its Banks” by Jessica Pressler, who also serves as a producer.
