Broadway fans have lots to get excited about with Netflix's upcoming animated movie musical Spellbound, which launches on the streamer November 22. Watch a teaser trailer above.
Though this particular trailer does not choose to show it's a musical, the actual film will include new songs by The Little Mermaid collaborators Alan Menken and Glenn Slater. The story follows Princess Ellian as she embarks on a mission to save her kingdom after a spell turns her parents into monsters.
The stage star-heavy voice cast includes Rachel Zegler as Princess Ellian, John Lithgow as Bolinar, Jenifer Lewis as Nazara, Nathan Lane as Luno, Nicole Kidman as Queen Ellsmere, Javier Barden as King Solon, Olga Merediz as The General, and Tituss Burgess as Sunny. Even the ensemble features performances from such stage favorites as Angela Grovey, Jessica Molaskey, and Dennis Stowe.
The film has a story by Vicky Jenson, Lauren Hynek, and Elizabeth Martin and a screenplay by Hynek, Martin, and Julia Miranda. Jenson directs.
