The stars of Transparent will take their final bow this fall in an two-hour musical that promises to end the series on a high note.
In the trailer above, Broadway enthusiasts can watch 2019 Tony Award recipient Judith Light sing and dance in the “musicale finale” as Shelly. Transparent creator Jill Soloway tapped Shakina Nayfack to collaborate on the series' swansong.
Light has let her theatrical side shine on the series before, as Shelly presents her own solo show To Shell and Back (including a rendition of Alanis Morissette's "Hand in My Pocket").
The Emmy Award-winning comedy follows the Pfefferman family as they adjust to life after a member comes out as a transwoman named Maura (played by Jeffrey Tambor, who has departed the series and will not be a part of the final season). The cast includes also Gaby Hoffman, Amy Landecker, Alexandra Billings, Kathryn Hahn and Jay Duplass.
