Val from A Chorus Line might not give a f*@! about The Red Shoes, but we at Playbill do love a dance movie. 

Set in a prestigious ballet school, The Red Shoes: Next Step follows former dancer Sam Cavanaugh, who is working as an assistant at the academy. When the lead ballerina is injured and the understudy isn't prepared, Sam steps in, leading her to examine how her life got so out of control and maybe rekindle her passion for dance. The film stars professional ballet dancers Julie Doherty (High Strung), Joel Burke, and Primrose Kern. Directed by Jesse A'hern and Joanna Samuel, The Red Shoes: Next Step features a screenplay by Zachery Layner, John Banas, and Peter McLeod. It is produced by A'hern and Tanya Esposito. 

The movie, from One Tree Productions and Uncharted Studios, will be released November 7 on digital, VOD, and DVD.
