The Hadestown star will take the stage at 54 Below in his show That Sunday, That Summer.

Those who have performed at 54 Below know the ride from the 10th floor green room to the basement stage can take a while.

How to make good use of that time? Playbill invited Broadway's T. Oliver Reid to answer some questions ahead of his 54 Below show, and end the interview with a song, "I Can't Make You Love Me," for our original series Elevator Pitch.

Reid, who can currently be seen as Hermes in the Tony-winning Hadestown, returns to 54 Below July 24 at 7 PM with his show That Sunday, That Summer, accompanied by musical director Lawrence Yurman.

The evening will explore relationships through the music and lyrics of Alan and Marilyn Bergman, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, The Gershwins, Gabriel Fauré, Sara Bareilles, John Legend, and more.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Black Theatre Coalition’s Fellowship program.
