Stage and screen heartthrobs Matt Bomer and Jonathan Bailey star in the new limited series Fellow Travelers, due out from Showtime and Paramount+ October 27.
Part romance, part political thriller, the story centers on D.C. staffers (Bomer and Bailey) who fall in love during the Lavender Scare of the 1950s, which saw Joseph McCarthy and Roy Cohn targeting queer government workers. Their decades-long romance takes them through McCarthyism, Vietnam War protests, the disco era, and the AIDS crisis. Check out the trailer video above.
Bomer made his Broadway debut in the 2018 production of The Boys in the Band and reprised his role for the 2020 film. He also appeared in the 2014 film adaption of the play The Normal Heart. Bailey, now well-known for his role in the Netflix Regency romance series Bridgerton, is a West End regular. He took home a 2019 Olivier for his performance as Jamie in the gender-swapped revival of Company.
Based on the best-selling book by Thomas Mallon, the eight-episode limited series is created for television by Ron Nyswaner. Jelani Alladin (Frozen), Allison Williams (Girls), and Noah J. Ricketts (Beautiful, Frozen) also star.
The series will premiere on demand October 27 on Paramount+ and Showtime.
