Amanda Seyfried, most known to theatre fans as Cosette in the feature film version of Les Misérables and to wider pop culture as Karen from Mean Girls, and her fiancé, Thomas Sadoski, are expecting their first child together, according to Entertainment Tonight.
Sadoski and Seyfried met while starring opposite each other in the 2015 Second Stage production of The Way We Get By. After that, they appeared in the movie The Last Word together. The two confirmed their engagement in September of this year.
Last on Broadway in Other Desert Cities, Sadoski earned a Tony nomination for his performance in reasons to be pretty and played a series regular on HBO’s The Newsroom. Aside from Les Miz, Seyfried also played Sophie in the film version of Mamma Mia! starring Meryl Streep.
She told Marie Claire UK last year that she wanted to have children. “I want a child. Badly. I want to be a mother, badly. That’s what I feel. I’ve been feeling it for like, two years.”
It was recently announced that writer-director Paul Schrader will direct Ethan Hawke and Seyfried in the upcoming First Reformed, a movie currently in pre-production. Sadoski currently stars in Life in Pieces on CBS and was announced to star in the upcoming rom-com Lemonade, about a struggling theatre director who falls in love with a girl he thinks he doesn’t deserve.
