The album for the new musical starring Darren Criss and Helen J Shen will be released in March.

Attention, HelperBots! The first single from the Maybe Happy Ending cast album has been released on streaming platforms. Listen to the love duet, "The Rainy Day We Met" (performed by Helen J Shen and Darren Criss), in the video above.

The Maybe Happy Ending cast album will be released March 14 by Ghostlight Records. The album can be pre-ordered here. A physical release with CD and vinyl editions will arrive later this spring.

The new musical, which opened November 12, 2024, is written by Hue Park and Will Aronson, and is directed by Tony winner Michael Arden. Read the reviews here. To hear more songs from the show, listen to five preview tracks released last year on Soundcloud.

Shen and Criss star as, respectively, Claire and Oliver, South Korea-based Helperbots that have been deemed obsolete. The pair form an unlikely bond, setting off a surprising and romantic adventure. The music is by Aronson with lyrics by Park and a book by Park and Aronson.

The cast album is produced by Deborah Abramson, Ian Kagey, and Will Aronson.

The cast also includes Marcus Choi as James and Junseo, Dez Duron as Gil Brentley, Arden Cho as Jiyeon, Young Mazino as Suhan, and Jim Kaplan as Young Junseo. Understudies Hannah Kevitt, Steven Huynh, Christopher James Tamayo, Claire Kwon, and Daniel May round out the company. Casting is by Telsey & Co's Craig Burns.

Maybe Happy Ending first premiered in Korea in 2016, at DaeMyung Culture Factory in Seoul and subsequently won six Korean Musical Awards including Best Musical. It had its English-language premiered in 2019 at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, also directed by Arden. The English-language version was awarded the 2017 Richard Rodgers Production Award.

Maybe Happy Ending features scenic and additional video design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Ben Stanton, sound design by Peter Hylenski, video design by George Reeve, music supervision by Deborah Abramson, and music direction by John Yun. Justin Scribner is serving as production stage manager.

Jeffrey Richards and Hunter Arnold are leading the producing team alongside Criss and Pamela and Stephen Della Pietra.
