News The Lilly Awards Celebrate Women Songwriters with Star-Studded Cabaret Tonight The Lilly Awards Foundation presents the Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret Nov. 9, an evening of musical showstoppers written by women and performed by Broadway leading ladies Chilina Kennedy, Kate Baldwin, Kelli Barrett, Sydney Lucas and Lesli Margherita, among other stars.

The one-night-only benefit concert at The Cutting Room in Manhattan is directed by Leigh Silverman with musical direction by Georgia Stitt.

The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret features musical numbers from Beautiful - The Carole King Musical, Kinky Boots, Fun Home, The Color Purple, The Drowsy Chaperone, Runaways, Doctor Zhivago, It Shoulda Been You and more.

The evening celebrates the work of women songwriters Jill Abramovitz, Kristen Anderson‐Lopez, Barbara Anselmi, Carmel Dean, Lisa DeSpain, Bridget Everett, Jenny Giering, Julie Gold, Micki Grant, Amanda Green, Carole King, Lisa Kron, Lisa Lambert, Cyndi Lauper, Amy Powers, Lauren Pritchard, Brenda Russell, Lucy Simon, Jenny Stafford, Georgia Stitt, Elizabeth Swados, Shaina Taub, Jeanine Tesori and Allee Willis.

Also included in the line-up of performers are Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), Bridget Everett (Rock Bottom), Gina Ferrall (Mamma Mia!), Amanda Green (Bring It On, The Musical), Julie Gold ("From a Distance"), Joshua Henry (The Scottsboro Boys), Joaquina Kalukango (The Color Purple), Kenita Miller (The Wild Party), Shania Taub (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812), Sally Wilfert (Assassins), Grace Capeless (The Lion King), Bonale Fambrini (The King and I), Akira Golz (Matilda), Jake Lucas (The King and I) and Alexandria Suarez (On Your Feet).

Proceeds benefit the Lilly Awards Foundation, dedicated to promoting gender parity and celebrating the work of women in the theatre industry. Tickets to the concert range from $75-$400 and can be purchased at TheLillyAwards or Artful.
