The Shed has revealed the lineup of productions and art installations for its 2024-2025 season Off-Broadway.

The season will kick off with The Breakdown Odyssey by Ms. Boogie, presented September 14. Brooklyn-based rapper Ms. Boogie will give a two-show, one-night-only performance of her debut album The Breakdown alongside Minneapolis-based producer M. Jamison.

From October 26-December 15, Kenneth Branagh will star in the title role of William Shakespeare's King Lear. The production will feature a cast of rising stars from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, and will be co-directed by Rob Ashford, Branagh, and Lucy Skilbeck

The Shed's annual gala will be held November 19, featuring special appearances by Shed artists and a first look at the New York premiere of its Luna Luna: Forgotten Fantasy art amusement park.

Luna Luna will open to the public November 20 in the Shed's McCourt, Level 2 Gallery, and Overlook. From February 12-March 23, 2025, Christo and Jeanne-Claude: The Gates and Unrealized Projects for New York City will be open in The Shed's Level 4 Gallery, with free tickets available. The exhibit commemorates the 20th anniversary of a landmark installation that transformed Central Park, drew over 4 million visitors, and inspired conversations about the power of public art.

The season will close with The Brothers Size, penned by Academy Award winner Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight). The work explores themes of brotherhood, resilience, and the complexities of the Black male experience through the story of two brothers navigating life after incarceration. The co-production with Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse will be presented in the round in the Griffin Theater, running February 18-March 16.

The Shed's ongoing programs, including the intergenerational choir The Fire Ensemble, the Open Call commissioning program, and Open Arms Resource Fairs, will also continue throughout the season.
