Out of Time began previews at The Public last week and officially opens March 1.
The collection of new monologues by Asian American playwrights Jaclyn Backhaus, Sam Chanse, Mia Chung, Naomi Iizuka, and Anna Ouyang Moench is performed by a Mia Katigbak, Glenn Kubota, Page Leong, Natsuko Ohama, and Rita Wolf. All actors are over the age of 60. The monologues explore age, memory, parenthood, and identity in this commission and production by National Asian American Theatre Company.
The show was conceived by Les Waters who directs and features scenic design by dots, costume design by Mariko Ohigashi, lighting design by Reza Behjat, sound design by Fabian Obispo, dramaturgy by Sarah Lunnie, props management by Caitlyn Murphy, and magic consulting by Steve Cuiffo. Serving as production stage manager and stage manager respectively are Kasson Marroquin and Narissa Agustin.
