As Playbill wraps up Season 2 of The Broadway Cast, we’re sneaking in a SpongeBob bonus episode recorded at our recent SpongeBob SquarePants pop-up preview event with Renaissance Hotels.

In the 20-minute episode, host Ben Cameron chats with Ethan Slater, who plays the title character in the new Broadway musical; director Tina Landau; Lilli Cooper, who plays Sandy Cheeks; Danny Skinner, who plays Patrick; and Brian Ray Norris, who brings Mr. Krabs to life.

Slater chats about taking on the iconic character from his childhood, Cooper discusses crazy costuming and the world-premiere production in Chicago, and Landau opens up about the development process, the design of the show, and the making of the cast album.
