Broadway News Six Degrees of Separation Announces Early Closing The Broadway production, which stars Allison Janney, Corey Hawkins, and John Benjamin Hickey, will close a month earlier than scheduled.

The Broadway revival of John Guare’s Six Degrees of Separation, previously scheduled to play a limited engagement through July 16, will now close June 18. The production, which was nominated for two Tony Awards, will have played 21 previews and 63 regular performances at the time of closing.

The production was nominated for the 2017 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play, a prize that went to August Wilson’s Jitney at the June 11 ceremony. Corey Hawkins was also nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play, which went to Kevin Kline for Present Laughter.

Inspired by a true story, Six Degrees of Separation sees a young con man, played by Hawkins, insinuate himself into the lives of a wealthy New York couple, played by seven-time Emmy Award winner Allison Janney and Tony Award winner John Benjamin Hickey.

Trip Cullman directs a cast completed by Jim Bracchitta, Tony Carlin, Michael Countryman, James Cusati-Moyer, Ned Eisenberg, Lisa Emery, Keenan Jolliff, Peter Mark Kendall, Cody Kostro, Sarah Mezzanotte, Colby Minifie, Paul O’Brien, Chris Perfetti, Ned Riseley, and Michael Siberry.

The production began previews on Broadway April 5 and opened April 25 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre.
