Red Bull Theater will present the Off-Broadway premiere of Jeffrey Hatcher's adaptation of Molière's The Imaginary Invalid May 21-June 29 at New World Stages. Opening night is set for June 2.

Directed by Jesse Berger, the cast will feature Mark Linn-Baker, Sarah Stiles, Arnie Burton, Russell Daniels, Manoel Felciano, Emilie Kouatchou, Emily Swallow, and John Yi.

In Molière’s comedy, Monsieur Argan is a hypochondriac whose nonexistent illnesses blind him to the con men and women (his new wife) who prey on his fears. His plan: marry his daughter to a doctor so he'll have free round-the-clock on-site healthcare for the rest of his life.

The production will also have scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Tilly Grimes, lighting design by Mextly Couzin, sound design by Greg Pliska, properties by Lauren Page Russell, dialect and voice coaching by Deborah Hecht, action movement by Rick Sordelet, and choreography by Tracy Bersley.

The upcoming world premiere is based on a new translation by Mirabelle Ordinaire, who will also serve as the dramaturg.
