Tony Awards See Who's Honoring Sheldon Harnick in Upcoming TV Tribute

Mr. Harnick, one of the most beloved lyricists in the American theatre, passed away in June at the age of 99.

The long-running cable variety show Jamie deRoy & friends will pay tribute to Tony-winning lyricist Sheldon Harnick, who passed away June 23 at the age of 99.

The August 7 broadcast, which airs at 8 PM ET on the Manhattan Neighborhood Network (Spectrum HD channel 1993 and Verizon Fios channel 37), will feature archival footage, anecdotes, and performances by Christiane Noll, Bonnie Langford, and co-host Barry Kleinbort. Viewers will also be treated to deRoy’s interview with Harnick, from a 2010 Primary Stages evening at 59E59.

Noll will perform “When Did I Fall in Love?” from Fiorello, Kleinbort will offer “Anatevka” from Fiddler on the Roof, and Langford will sing “Sunrise, Sunset,” also from Fiddler. The music director is Paul Greenwood.

Jamie deRoy & friends is directed by Barry Kleinbort and produced by Russell Bouthiller.
