The April 18 Radio City Rockettes open audition saw roughly 800 dancers competing for a spot in the annual 2022 Christmas Spectacular and to attend the dance company's conservatory program.
Leading the auditions was Julie Branam, director and choreographer of the Christmas Spectacular, and Rockettes dance captain Danelle Morgan.

To be more inclusive, the organization expanded the height requirement by an inch. Eligible dancers must fall within the height range of 5’5”-5’10½ inches. All auditionees will be considered for the Rockettes Conservatory program. The no-cost program is considered a pipeline for future Rockettes dancers and allows the company to continue to discover new talent.
In other Rockettes news, the dance company will be featured in an upcoming Hallmark movie starring Jagged Little Pill alum Derek Klena. The movie takes place in 1958 and follows Philadelphia heiress Maggie and her dreams of dancing in the Radio City Music Hall's ChristmasSpectacular. It features choreography by Branam.
