Musical theatre actor Deejay Young is trading in his tour trunks for a chance at R&B stardom. Having recently finished a stint with the national tour of Hamilton, the performer appeared on the first night of The Voice Blind Auditions. Young wowed the judges with his falsetto range in his rendition of Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work." See the performance in the video above. 

Young got three chair turns from the judges, with Gwen Stefani, John Legend, and newest judge Reba McEntire vying for his talents. After revealing that he was a musical theatre actor, McEntire shared a moment of camaraderie with Young, saying "I know how much work that is. I did Annie Get Your Gun."

With an eye on an R&B career, Young ultimately chose to work on Legend's team. (It should be stated, though, that Legend is also a Tony-winning Broadway producer.)

In the filmed intro package before his audition, Young shared that he was a standby on the tour and performed five of the seven male leads in Hamilton. And though it often happens that actors make their Broadway debuts straight from the tour, it looks like we may be waiting a while for Young. He's going to be busy for a few weeks!
