A host of Broadway favorites will join the San Diego Symphony Orchestra to pay tribute to the late Tony- and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim.

The August 23 concert, aptly titled Sondheim Tonight! A Celebration of Genius, will feature the talents of Tony winner Santino Fontana, Tony nominees Emily Skinner and Tony Yazbeck, vocalist Amy Owens, and pianist Evan Roider.

The evening, which begins at 7:30 PM at the Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, will also include a special appearance from Tony-winning original Sweeney Todd star Len Cariou. Musical director Rob Fisher will conduct the orchestra.

Also singing Sondheim will be an ensemble of current and former students of San Diego State University: Sarah Hernandez, Cody Ingram, Nole Jones, Kimberly Moller, and Sophia Perez.

Gary Griffin is directing Sondheim Tonight!, which will also feature lighting design by Philip Rosenberg, and audio design by Scott Lehrer.

Attendees can expect to hear tunes from Sweeney Todd, Company, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods, and many others.
