London theatre company Brooklyn Rep UK has set performances for Robyn Herfellow's new solo musical Body Stocking Legion, which will run at Bethnal Green Working Men's Club April 12–20. Founding Artistic Director Charles Quittner is directing.
The new work from the international cabaret artist takes place in a post-apocalyptic world in which everything considered normal is in hiding and a rowdy bunch of revolutionaries are living out the lingerie uprising.
The forthcoming work features songs by Herfellow and will be played by a roster of queer musician-performers, including Vyvyan Wyld, Meg Narongchai, and Shakira Stellar.
“I am thrilled to be presenting my debut London run, Body Stocking Legion at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club," says Herfellow in a statement. "The club is the spiritual home to East London Cabaret, and amidst threats of it closing, there is no better time for it to become the hideout for the revolutionary Body Stocking Legion. Fear not, Séayoncé and I have not broken up, but I am overjoyed to be presenting a production of my own, adding fuel to the fire and turning the volume up on my songs of the lingerie uprising!“
